Kellogg & Kimsey provided construction management for this 2-story, 85,000-square-foot upscale department store at the Mall at University Town Center, a project notable as the first ground-up Saks Fifth Avenue built anywhere in the country in a decade. Working from the luxury retailer's new prototype design, Kellogg & Kimsey managed numerous design changes throughout construction as that prototype was refined in real time. The interior brought together multiple department layouts, fitting rooms, storage, employee offices, and a break room, while the finished store showcased high-end finishes, distinctive lighting, and bold architectural statements across its exterior facade, anchoring one of only two enclosed malls to open in the entire United States in 2014.
